Im Zentrum von TRUE STORIES / NARRATIVES OF ABSENCE stehen historische Ereignisse, politische Narrative sowie persönliche und kollektive Erinnerung. Kobe untersucht, wie Geschichte sich in Abwesenheiten, Verschiebungen und fragmentierten Erzählungen manifestiert – und bewegt sich dabei zwischen Dokumentation und Fiktion, zwischen tatsächlichem Geschehen und erfundener Geschichte.

Die Ausstellung im Erdgeschoss des Schlosses Biesdorf versammelt jüngere Arbeiten, die sich mit historischen Bildern und Ereignissen auseinandersetzen und danach fragen, wie diese in der Gegenwart fortwirken.

Kobe explores how history manifests itself through absences, shifts, and fragmented narratives, moving between documentation and fiction, between actual events and invented histories.

The exhibition presents recent works that engage with historical images and events while asking how they continue to resonate in the present.
